There are those moments when you find your self in a pickle A mishap, a shamble it seems.. I've been there one too many times Creating illusion and delusions whereas I am the object of Attention And well they are the object. of Affection There is a pulling and a pushing A sharing and a taking; the reciprocation at first glance seems surreal The kinetic chemistry is undeniable; Two souls dancing in the night Yet my vision seems skewed because I only see what I want to see Does he really SEE me? Does he really FEEL me? Or is is all a Game Hide and Seek, Come and Get It! Once the soul is tickled... The fantasy begins.. However it can be playful or detrimental Has this entity come to bring forth Love or wreak Havoc The unbalanced emotional roller coaster ride offers a birds eye view Notice the reflection right in front of you... See the lesson and learn it too No more Fantasy, it was too good to be true, Damn! Another lesson.... Self care, Self love, Self indulging ...

The Road to Honduras  My parents had been trying to contact me for the longest. I don't know how I managed to miss several of their calls, but they finally made contact. My dad was quite hysterical when I answered the call. "Miko, where the hell have you been? Your Mother and I have been trying to call you for days. You could've sent a message." Of course, I felt my dad was exaggerating because Mother knew I made initial contact when I made it to Aruba and then again when I was on my way to Jamaica, but I guess it has been a while since then. "Ok, Dad, I apologize I'll do better to stay in touch. What's all the fuss about anyway?" "Your great Uncle Seymour passed away a week or so ago. It was unexpected, and of course, you know you're his only great-niece." What?! Uncle Seymour? Oh, no! I had just thought about him before I began my venture. He always encouraged me to be true to thyself and live my most authentic life. My hea...

Connections I was sitting in my room, thinking about all that transpired as I began to write in my journal. The past week has been a gift from the universe. I've gotten to know Kwesi, Layla, and Claude as much as I could within seven days. There were instant connections and an expression of gratitude for them gracing me with the gift of their presence. I was ecstatic to find out that Layla and Kwesi live in my city, Fort Lauderdale. We'll see much more of each other. Layla has a real, quiet spirit, and she's bold. She carries herself with such confidence and wears a crown that no one can remove. As I've gotten to know her, that's what I appreciate the most. She's so free, intelligent, and sexy. I adore the way she and Kwesi allow themselves to be total without restraints. They've been in their polyamorous relationship for five years. They are seeking a woman to add to their foundation. I told them as much as I am into both of them I don't know if I ...

Island Fiyah        Jamaica has been nothin but greatness since I got here. I'm finally getting to happy hour today. I've just been lounging in my room and on the beach the last two days keeping to myself before I go out on the prowl. As I sat at the bar, all I could do was think about Horus, and then this fine female approached the bar for a drink. She was thick in all the right places... I couldn't help but notice her. "Excuse me, Bartender can I get an apple martini please?" Her voice was raspy and sexy. I was anxious to speak to her, but instead, I let the moment pass. All I could do was fantasize. There are times when I want to go after what I want constantly, and then there are moments when I want her or him to come after me. Today was one of those moments. Let's see who is interested in Miko today. "Bob Marley with a twist, Irie?" I heard a robust masculine voice from behind me project to the bartender. The closer he got. I could feel h...

Hello Jamaica I still can't believe Horus and me. Well, we didn't have sex but came close to it. Oh, how I longed to lay my yoni at his altar and be subdued by the mandingo slayer. Horus is a procrastinating charmer, not me. It's crazy because the way he touches me makes me melt. There's so much warmth behind his touch and the energy that goes with it.  I reflected as I sat on the plane, preparing for my exit — another safe landing. Jamaica, here I am. There's no telling what's in store for me here but, I'm determined to make a greater connection than in Aruba. "Welcome to Jamaica, Wah Gwaan?"  The greetings of my driver wooed me into an irie state. I began to feel at home instantly. The scenery was more than I imagined even the ride to my resort estate in Montego Bay was nostalgic. Have you ever experienced a moment where everything is familiar and strange all in the same? All I could do was embrace the eery. When I got to my villa, I was over...

HER

The air was crisp, and the fog was thick. The clouds loomed over the city. I never really paid much attention to the skyline that was in perfect view, on the way to my loft, in the heart of the town. I couldn't stop thinking about Myasia, the woman from the plane. We decided to exchange numbers and planned to link up soon. Ironically she lived in Midtown not too far from me. I hope I get to see her before my next show. Although I don't know how long I can keep her a secret. My friends aren't homophobic, but they have skewed views about homosexuality. Perhaps they don't need to know about her until I know more. There is no way I'm going to mess up this opportunity to explore this mysterious journey that the universe has presented to me.  I have exactly 14 days until my next gig in NYC. I will relax, shop and catch up on my favorite tv series. Oh, and I guess I can work on some new music too. Lately, I've been avoiding my creative craft. I ent...

Strange Love - Primal Encounter

Image
Nostalgic vibes in the air remind me of my olden days of blissful freedom. The scent of cedar wood and lavender linger in the foyer. The daylight peeks through the curtains as I hear the loud noise of kids playing outside. I walked to the couch and lay reluctantly. Another day to be grateful for and yet my heart longs for the love it once received.  I can no longer deny the pain I feel inside. I think I better just lay here and take it easy. Heartbreak is never easy, and getting over a love gone sour is even worse. I can't even say I used to love her because I still do. It all began three years ago when I decided to be free and open my heart to an unprecedented love. I had just finished a tour in Paris and was headed back to the states.  My crew booked me a first class trip back, but my seating arrangement wasn't near any of them. I didn't mind because it was first class! I boarded the plane and waited for my departure. I could've never predicted what was about to t...

Ocean Surprise

Image
Mermaids       The sea roared, and the waves rolled. Penelope bobbed and weaved with the currents as she made her way to a nearby Fisherman’s boat. Finally! She was tired and just wanted to rest. The horn blew, and the ship would be sailing shortly. The sun was setting, and yet she was hopeful that she would be back home soon. She laid down and began to reflect on how she had gotten to this point.              Penelope always wanted to sail the ocean but settled for a 5-day cruise instead. None of her friends were able to take this trip with her due to their schedules, but this would never stop Penelope.  She didn’t mind having fun alone, besides she was often a loner. Late one night, after a pitstop, Penelope decided to get a view of the ocean from the 2nd floor. As she leaned forward on the rail, the boat jolted suddenly. She lost her balance and fell overboard. As soon as she hit the water her body began to convu...

Casualties of War

Detective Moore It's not often I get baffled when working on a case. Yet this one is dragging, and the pieces are not of the standard caliber. We're still working on getting an ID for the female victim. It seems as though she's not a U.S. Citizen. So the foreign database search has already been initiated. The Homeland Security U.S. Embassy should have her information in no time. Meanwhile, the identified Raphael Durand's wife is being brought in for questioning. It seems as though they had been going through a breakup, which, in my eyes, implies motive. Her ragged and torn skirt did not imply that she was impoverished. Perhaps she was in a rush while getting dressed. As she sat in the interrogation room, she did not look a bit disturbed. No tears fell from her eyes, and no compassion seemed to be in her heart. Legs crossed, and lips primped and pursed, her fire-red lipstick brought attention to her dark chocolate brown skin. I managed to get a glimpse of her b...
