THE TRIBE

Return to Honduras

After much deliberation and frustration, I decided to return to Honduras. I reflected while on the plane. I had plenty of time to do so. Jackson had gotten on my last nerve smothering me for the remainder of the time he was around. I was beginning to understand why I enjoyed our time away from each other. He returned to his tour and would be gone for 12 months, Yay me. He insisted that I visited him when the time permitted, and I told him I would think about it.
,
I finalized my inheritance logistics, and in a couple of weeks, I will officially be a millionaire. No one knows about the money except my parents, not even Nadia. Uncle Seymour requested that only the information about my inheritance of the estates and stocks be public. He made it very clear that no one was to know about the cash inheritance except my parents. I was grateful for that, and I know my parents appreciated that gesture as well. Otherwise, it could've been a mess. I mean, it already will be with just the estates and stocks, but after a while, the family will calm down.

I offered to pay off my parents house and buy them another. They both thanked me and advised me to get a financial advisor, invest, and create my own business. My father had just retired from his postal job after 35 years, and Mom ran her private Tax Firm. There was no reason for either of them to ever work again. I was going to make sure of that. However, Mom insisted she keeps her firm and works from home most often as she oversaw her employees. There was no need to argue with them Uncle Seymour just wanted me to have a better life than they did. I was already one foot ahead in the game.

Miguel was excited about my return to Honduras. This time I didn't want to stay at the luxurious hotel entirely. I wanted to experience the village, so Miguel offered to let me stay at his place with him and Cristina. Cristina is Miguel's roommate; Nadia told me she's more like an introvert, and she stays to herself. I only saw her in passing my last visit. She greeted me as soon as I entered the house. "Hi! You're Miko, right? So you and Miguel gonna be hanging out a lot this week, huh?" Cristina asked with a puzzled look on her face. I wondered if she likes Miguel and never told him. I mean, he is fine. "Uh, no, Cristina, it won't be like my last visit. I plan on going deeper within self this trip. Miguel and I will party one more time before I go. You can feel free to join!"

She smiled with a smirk as she responded, "No, I'll leave that to you two party animals. Besides, I don't know how Miguel would feel about hanging out with me?" I could tell from that response that she did like him, and he didn't even know it. Just then, Miguel came in with my luggage, out of breath. " Girl, how much stuff did you pack? Aren't you only staying for a week?" I just smiled and shook my head. "I'm staying with you guys for a week, and then I'll be back at the hotel lofts. My whole trip is for two weeks. I'm making up for the time I lost."

"Oh, okay, that makes sense, Cause I was about to call you Miss Boujee and ready!" Miguel and I both laughed. Cristina just retreated to her room quietly. This chick was gonna be a problem I could tell. "So, Miko, I'll put your things in my room, and you can make yourself at home." "Thanks, Miguel." I sat on the couch and stared out the windows. The air was muggy, but the wind still blew. It's supposed to rain a few days this week, so I already prepared to be indoors. Miguel had to work only a few days this week, so on his off days, we would hang out. He was preparing for work when I went into his room.

"Miguel, can I ask you a question?" He was surprised but obliged. "Sure, what's on your mind?" I started to stumble over my words because I wanted him to know, but then again, I figured I should leave well enough alone. "Did you know that Cristina likes you?" He laughed. "Yeah, actually, I've known for quite some time." "Miguel? So what? you don't like her?" He sighed, then answered, "Cristina is complicated. I mean don't get me wrong, she is beautiful, but she's quite the jealous type. She's also possessive, and a man of my caliber cannot afford to be dealing with a woman like that in a relationship."

Hmm, this was definitely about to get interesting. "So, how is it when Cristina sees you bring all these different women home?" Miguel looked at me and gasped. "Miko! What makes you think I bring a whole bunch of different women home? I'm very particular about women knowing where I live. Especially women like Cristina. She just happened to luck up and roommate with me, thanks to my mom. She thought it would be a good idea. I know she was playing matchmaker, but I needed help with the rent."

"Oh, I see." I hadn't paid attention to Miguel as much before, but this dude is FINE. I was not going to be safe sleeping in the same room with him. "Did you and Nadia sleep together? I mean, she didn't get a chance to tell me with everything that's been going on?" "You certainly don't waste any time getting straight to matters, huh? Yes, Nadia and I did have sex, and I plan to stay in touch with her. I like her a lot." That was my clue. "Ok, well, I need to sleep in Cristina's room. I don't want to be a temptation for you nor allow you to be that for me. Nadia and I don't share."

Miguel walked up on me real close and assured me I had nothing to be afraid of or worry about. However, it wasn't him; I was worried about it was me. I had to get this sex thing under wraps. I've been so horny, lately, it's unbelievable. I haven't had someone to scratch that itch since Layla, Kwesi, and Claude. Those three omg! Just Kwesi and Layla alone were enough. I could feel myself going into a deep daydream, and Miguel pulled me out of it.

"Miko, I'm heading out. I'll see you later. Why don't you talk to Cristina? She could use a friend like you, I'm sure." He laughed, and I just shook my head at him. "Alright, Miguel, see you later." I knew exactly what he meant, but she didn't even seem like my type. She was a bit snooty and those vibes. I was not feeling her at all, but it wouldn't hurt to talk to her. So I made my way to her door and knocked. "Yeah." "Cristina, it's me, Miko, can I come in?" She hesitated, and then I heard a few rumblings as she replied, "Of course. Come in." There was a reason we would be cohabiting for a week. So let me find out why she's crossed my path. The journey continues....
